Macroeconomic overview- October 2022
Total deposits were MNT 17 trillion in October 2022, a decrease of 95.3 billion or 0.6 percent on the previous month. This is a decrease of MNT 478.6 billion or 9.5 percent on the same period in 2021. Savings in local currency decreased by MNT 12444 billion or 1 percent whereas foreign currency deposits increased by 0.6 percent or MNT 4642 billion. Of these, MNT deposits accounted for 73 percent and currency deposits accounted for 27 percent. Compared to the same period of the previous year, MNT deposits decreased by 16.5 percent, while foreign currency deposits increased for 16.8 percent.
