One Belt One Road: uncovering Mongolia’s opportunities and challenges
The Economic Policy and Competitiveness Research Center (EPCRC) teamed up with Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, United Nations ESCAP and GIZ on Tuesday 8 November to run a workshop on China’s One Belt One Road program, to help uncover ways Mongolia can benefit from the massive investment project.
One Belt One Road is a program of the Chinese government that provides investment for new road, rail and shipping routes connecting Asia to Europe.
The workshop formed a key component of the EPCRC’s ongoing research work into One Belt One Road, that is supported by the GIZ through their Integrated Mineral Resources Initiative (IMRI) Project.
The main purpose of the workshop was to introduce and provide an update on this research, and gain feedback from academia, experts, and government officials working in this field. The EPCRC will provide further information on this research and its findings in the coming months.
