MOU with MNCCI ensures coordination of research and advocacy priorities
Director Otgochuluu Chuluuntseren today signed an MOU charter on
behalf of the Economic Policy and Competitiveness Research Center
(EPCRC) with the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry
(MNCCI), signifying the complementary goals and capabilities of each
organization.
Sambuu Demberel, MNCCI Chairman, was also a signatory to the MOU
which aims to encourage cooperation on research, development projects
and policy advocacy work that address the goals of sustainable growth
practices, social improvement and global economic competitiveness which
feature as major goals of each organization.
The MOU provides a platform for the parties to share resources and
provide ongoing mutual support. It will also allow for the joint
advocacy of government and business policy change, greater access to
membership networks and training opportunities for respective staff
members. The agreement is particularly important for the EPCRC as an
avenue to expand its local market research links which will assist in
the preparation of the annual Mongolia in World Competitiveness report.
“The MNCCI has a long and well-established history of promoting
private enterprise in Mongolia and has a large, active support base”
said Mr. Otgochuluu. “Through the MOU agreement, the EPCRC will have
access to this membership network, which will allow us to better analyze
the view of local business leaders and other key stakeholders when
conducting more competitiveness research in the future.” Mr. Otgochulee
also noted the EPCRC will be providing workshops to introduce the
national competitiveness concept to its staff and other industry guests.
Chairman Demberel noted the MOU broadens the capability of the MNCCI
to influence government policy. “Here we have the MNCCI, one of the
oldest and most respected institutions in Mongolia, and the EPCRC as a
new, policy-focused organization. They will benefit from our members
support and influence, while we can benefit through gaining a dedicated
research partner. The MOU is mutually beneficial, and I look forward to
working with the EPCRC and congratulate their efforts to date with the
national competitiveness report.”
“We share common values and goals, and I look forward to influencing
policy outcomes together with the EPCRC into the future” said the
Chairman.
