Судлаачид хамтарч ажиллах талаар ярилцав

On April 25 2013, a meeting was held between representatives from twenty of Mongolia’s research organisations. The meeting was organized by the EPCRC and coordinated with the Institute for Strategic Studies to present the EPCRCs research to fellow research organisations, and to discuss ways of sharing research and methodologies between all the research institutes operating in Mongolia.

The EPCRC’s Interim Director Laksmhi and Director B. Ganbat from the Institute of Strategic Studies gave the initial remarks. These were followed by a presentation from our manager Odonchimeg, who focused on measuring economic competitiveness and the findings from our reports. Finally, a presentation was given by the Asian Development Bank discussing the importance of fiscal policy management in times of dutch disease.

There was considerable discussion on how the research organsiations can cooperate and improve the quality of their research. For example Director Enkhbaigal from the National Development Institute noted that “It’s important that we continue to hold these meetings, but ultimately we should develop a database of research that can be used to share our research and reports amongst one another”.

We are planning on hosting this event on a monthly basis, and hope it will develop as a platform for participants to share their research proposals and findings.
